Tom Poster Recital

Acclaimed pianist Tom Poster is to give a recital in the Holywell Music Room on Sunday November 25th at 7.30pm in aid of the Exuberant Trust – an Oxfordshire charity giving grants to young local creative artists.
There will be many old friends in the audience as Tom grew up in Oxford, attending the Cherwell School before going on to Kings College, Cambridge where he gained a Double First in Music.

Tom made his London concerto debut at the age of 13, and won the keyboard section of BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2000. He has played concertos with a wide range of orchestras, won the Scottish International Piano Competition in 2007 and performed at the BBC Proms in 2008, 2009 and 2011. He is the pianist of the Aronowitz Ensemble, whose recordings have received great critical praise.

Tom who will play pieces by Chopin, Grieg, Schumann and Liszt said:

‘I am delighted to be helping raise funds for the Exuberant Trust – I have fond memories of concerts organized by Jenny Graham-Jones, in whose memory the Trust was founded.’

The Exuberant Trust has so far given grants totaling more than £40,000 to some eighty young Oxfordshire musicians, artists, dancers and craftspeople. Attendance at this concert will increase its potential to help many more.
